Just rewatched this today.

This dude was brilliant for this. Of course we already know MJ was brilliant in general but as it pertains to this film, this shyt was dope.

Lil insight on it below from the comments.

It's about Michael's life and those false allegations. The bigoted government employee (inspired by the govt prosecutor Tom Sneddon) shows up to the "creepy" mansion (Neverland) where the "freak" maestro (Michael) is terrorizing children according to what one kid (the '93 accuser) said. The townspeople show up ready to run the freak out of town although the other kids keep saying there has been no wrongdoing. The maestro stripped down to a skeleton which could be linked to when MJ had to strip naked for a police body search that stripped him of his dignity and pride. Also, the maestro turned into a monster which is how they tried to portray MJ in the media. The mayor ends up turning into a monster, himself, which is supposed to be a revelation of his true character. The real life inspiration, Tom Sneddon, was such an a$$hole that Michael wrote a song about him, D.S. on the HIStory album. At the end, the mayor thinks he's won and has destroyed the maestro only to be confronted by a larger than life manifestation (Michael's immense fame that couldn't be destroyed) so he runs off defeated. The maestro comes out victorious and the townspeople realize that he's not a bad guy after all.

The part where MJ fades to dust is all too telling now, since he actually is gone. I think dude was prophetic. Much like Pac.
