It's hilarious how the Democratic leadership doesn't seem to realize how much the voters position on something like the Israel-Palestine issue has shifted at this point. I've mentioned it before but in Zohran's case he won the jewish vote in NYC despite his critcizm of Israel and strong support for Palestinians. We're talking the largest population of Jews in the world outside of Israel.

It's also funny how people act like the policies he's proposing are radical. Seriously? Universal pre-k, free public transit, rent freeze on rent stablizied units? None of that is unreasonable and to the extent it would be hard to implement it would be due to moneyed interest fighting him tooth and nail on it not because working class people hate it.

Lastly anyone saying they don't see how she was made to look bad need to go back and really listen to the interview. She was caught multiple times contradicting herself and trying to pivot. A really good example is when Sagar asked her if AIPAC should register as a foreign agent and he started rambling about how she wasn't sure. It's literally a lobbying group primarying candidates and funding campaigns for policy in favor of a forgeign government lol. If we found out Iran had a group like that here we'd nuke them tomorrow.
I think the situation with Palestine is going to be similar to the iraq war where democrats who run saying that they were against supporting israel while it committed a genocide with our tax money will get support.

Obama never missed an opportunity to point out that he was against the iraq war and that he would put a stop to it if he was president while on the campaign trail. The next disruptive democrat will be on the same wave. They'll point out how their opponents kept voting to send weapons to Israel and kept voting to spend tax money on the military whilst we arent at war with any nation or being attacked by any foreign terrorist network. That candidate will emphasize how much his opponents have resisted auditing the pentagon to see how our tax money is being spent, resisted Medicare for all, resisted any meaningful legislation that would improve the quality of life for most Americans. He's going to point out how stupid these people were to claim they're fighting for everyday Americans while giving standing ovations to the leader of a foreign government which does nothing but give money to our politicians and push them into bloating our military so they can take the weapons that are supposed to be protecting US. Take those weapons and use them to violate international law on our dime.

Im pessimistic and I don't think a dem will win in 28(if Trump doesn't find some way to declare an emergency and prevent elections from happening so he can stay in power) more people need to be inspired to run for local office and we need a genuine grass roots labor movement in this country like we had in the past. Not enough people are there yet but of course I would love to be wrong.

Newsom’s own positions and shifts on issues signals that he knows both Cali and the country are pivoting to the Right.
California is different than New York State, and Newsome looking at national politics is not the same as AOC considering a senate run, and I also think Newsome gambling on things going more right when it’s just as likely to go left. I would also argue Pritzker, Moore, Beshear, Cooper, and even Walz all have better chances of coming out the nominee in 2028 than Newsome.

Exactly. The moderate Dems are fighting tooth and nail to avoid giving the base what it wants meanwhile the Republicans give the base what it wants but spend a lot of time trying to manipulate them into thinking this is what they want. As fukked up as it is the republicans just saying “fukk it let’s manipulate the dumb voters“ has been working great for them for about a decade straight.
