The Microsoft Band is no more. While signs pointed to the wearable line's possible demise a few weeks ago, there was always the chance that the tech giant would flip its noncommittal stance and announce a Band 3. But the final nail seems to be in its coffin: As of today, every listing and mention of the fitness wearable has been completely removedfrom the company's Store site.

Best Buy has likewise removed it from its online store, though Band 2 devices are still available on Amazon until their supply runs out, according to The Verge. While a Microsoft spokesperson toldZDNet that it will still support existing Band 2 owners, they have also removed the device's software development kit from its site.

The writing may have been on the wall when Microsoft supposedly disbandedthe team porting the wearable to Windows 10 a few months ago. But they're still keeping their mobile health apps under the "Band" name, which theyrebranded last month as rumor spread that they were dropping their own fitness device. This lets Microsoft continue running its Health backend service on other wearables, extending its lifespan while they quietly let their tracker die.

Zune as a service is now MS Groove  As for the MP3 player, well cellphones killed that off :umad:
Lumia phones was bought out so they could discontinue it, then use the resources on a phone they wanna create.
The latest phone they made, the 950 is a PC/Phone hybrid. They not rushing to bring out the next phone because they wanna market it properly. Its coming tho
AS for the Band, it seems Xbox may not wanna be in the Fitness game anymore. Or maybe they have something better brewing?
I didn't think the Band was this mega huge deal either way, but apparently it was to you :gladbron:

None of this is surprising. Microsoft is tightening up their product lines.

Surface Pro/Book/Phone
XBOX/Windows PC Gaming

It's pretty easy to see their line of thinking.

I tried the Band 2 and returned it before I ultimately decided on the Fitbit Blaze. It was too bulky and awkward for my taste.
