Do people under 35 years old listen to sports talk radio? It seems more like a boomer Gen X thing.
I'm 33 and listened to it growing up :manny:

*some* summers growing up I had cable TV and the YES Network in NYC would telecast the Mike and the Mad Dog show and I'd watch it in July and August since I was out of school.

I will say other than myself, Coli posters and Deus and Mero are the only hood brehs I'm aware of that listen to sports talk radio :russ:

I'm 26, I only listen to afternoon shows after embarrassing Jets/Giants/Yankees/Mets losses bcuz listening to the David from Tom's River types is straight comedy 😂 you know them old azz whites dudes been waiting they whole day until they could vent during work break lmaoo

But your point still stands, I rarely hear younger ppl call in, I think its because you have Twitter Spaces/Discord calls/Podcasts that are more instant avenues to discuss sports;

Rather than having to wait a day and sit on hold, and then having to get checked by a screener before you can actually talk to hosts of the program.

I randomly thought about the Mets fan getting :to: over Matt Harvey in 2015, I didn't know WFAN made a actual cartoon clowning the guy! :mjlol: This was uploaded by the actual WFAN Youtube page :mjlol:

Mike's disgust at the caller crying about baseball still makes me :mjlol:

What's crazy is Mike's reaction got cut short and the full video of his reaction to this call isn't online anymore :francis:

I think the problem is outside of major media markets you're getting stuck with syndicated slop. I'm not going to listen to some comms grad from Syracuse and some washed up ex-NFL guy from the Vikings do a worse version of First Take everyday.

Instead I can curate my own shyt with a podcast for each team that's going to be way more informative than the ESPN drivel. But you don't get visceral anger or suffering that you do on local sports talk radio. Everyone on these podcasts carries themselves like they're audtioning for head of scouting.

I think if you live in a city that has NFL, NBA, MLB, AND NHL it's probably crack. Or if you have at least an NFL team. My favorite thing to do after major market teams flop is to find the local radio stations to listen to fans spaz. Yankees, Red Sox, most NFL teams all crack after a bad or embarrassing loss. For NBA teams you want to hit twitter spaces.

Schadenfreude is a science. :blessed:

The season before last when the Eagles were bad that shyt was pure uncut cocaine. I didn't listen once last season. :Russ:

I think basketball doesn't get people as worked up but last season was good too because all of the Embiid shyt and PG has a unique ability to always say the wrong thing at the wrong time. People you could tell weren't watching games were calling in just to shyt on him. :demonic:
