Why doesn't Mike Tomlin have a coaching tree if he been coaching for nearly 2 decades now?

He is happy being the only brother in the room.

Dungy, dennis, Hue, and Marvin set the blueprint and sadly a lot of the guys following after them were content to shut the door.
DeMeco looks like he is giving folks a chance though.
Herm had black coaches too.

I don't know any black coaches that came from under Caldwell or Tomlin.

Mind you, in that time... he's only had 3 DC's ever.... where exactly were these guys supposed to be coming from? The Steelers as a whole aren't exactly a revolving door or a entry point to higher roles in the league.

Tomlin has no qc or positional coaches that come from under him. He doesn't put anyone on or develop them.

With the levels of consistency he's had since 2007, its a byproduct of there not being many moving parts in his organization.

He took over defensive play calling the last two seasons LeBeau is there and he fired him.

In doing that I would think he would have anyone he trusted or groomed to take place as db, lb dline coaches or anything, but he hasn't. He hasn't had any positional coaches come from him and go other places he has no coaching lineage. He doesn't even hire or give chances to black coaches on the offensive side.

He should have been all over trying to get EB to the Steelers, it took rivera to give eb a job. No opportunity for ledtwich but Canada can get a hire? Lol.

McVay goes out of his way to say he's from the Gruden tree/system.

Jon gave him his first job in Tampa when Bruce Allen worked there. Bruce introduced Mike Shanahan to McVay and they hired him but he didn't make any real traction and get OC/play calling responsibilities until he was under Jay, that led to him getting the Rams job.

Then ultimately its mike holmgren and bill walsh
