Brehs … Mike Tyson was Tank of his day

OK, let me put this simple. His prior management had him fighting against Tillis and then Mitch Greene. He was going to distance with these guys when prior he hadn’t went over six rounds. Tillis ended his knockout streak and and Mitch Greene also went the distance with him

I guarantee you, Don King called during this time and said they shouldn’t have him in there doing 10 rounds against non-contenders, they don’t know what they’re doing. Mike Tyson was already recognized as a generational talent very early.

We’re talking about fight 22 now, this is his first fight under Don King and the guy is literally pretending to act like he doesn’t want the ref to call it off, and just like that Mike Tyson is back knocking people out in the first round

Reggie Gross - this was his first fight under Don King - look it up

Teddy Atlas is a super hater about Tyson but he says Mike Tyson is 0-6, because the only real fights he had were the ones he was tested in

I think there might be something more to that

I retract this statement

There was literally no basis for testing him against anyone his own age in that division

He fought a lot of cans during his run to the title shot but at a pace that showcased and highlighted his skills

Within like a year he had amassed 27 wins and and 25KOs

A lot of the appeal of a Mike Tyson event was simply him showcasing his skillset, even if that was against cans -

When the time came he stepped up to the championship level and he was ready

When we won the title against Berbick the announcer said some say that “the only person that can beat Mike Tyson is Mike Tyson”

How right he was :wow:
