EWF were the premier rnb group of the 80s. These guys played to sold out venues around the world. They were paid up to 500 k to perform live-in the 80s,and sold over a 100 mn albums!
Throughout their era from the early 70s til now their members changed frequently but their signature sound has remained of percussion and vocals in an early funk sound has remained basically true.

2 weeks ago my 17 year old cousin was talmbout Weezy. I shut him down giving his young arse facts on real music including EWF,and now he's still only semi converted but its a start. Fyi,do you know EWF were getting million dollar payouts for their live performances?
Some say this is one of the reasons the PTB invented rap apart from the demands of the private prison industry- why pay real musicians real money when you can give grimy negroes 50k and a brass watch to entertain other grimy negroes?
