picture a nba 2k and gran turismo collab. in my player you could race cars in the offseason to earn fame and money, even further, make 2k my player an open world game like GTA. make my player open-world. its your decision if you want to drive to practice or show up at the game at all. Show up late, get fined. Fail a drug test, get fined. Have a dynamic weight system, show up overweight to camp, you get fined. Robbing cars and killing people will get you kicked out the league, but you can do it. In the case you get kicked out the league you can still enjoy the open world aspect but the object of the game would to be make the hall of fame, become billionaire, buy companies, become a mogul, etc. but at the same time you got to balance street credit/buzz. you get street cred/buzz by partying, doing underground crime missions (you get caught youre fukked. probably got to start over or have a Mike Vick like redemption which would be a possibility), showing up at events (some may interfere with practice..DECISIONS!), going on dates, or you could cheat the system and buy drugs. Drugs you can use to boost streetcred/buzz and drugs that boost performance. In order to improve on the court you have to attend practice, lifting minigames, solo shootaround etc. its a real task. The open world system would be so dynamic you could do any of the following scenarios.
A) smoke a blunt (which makes player slow and sloppy) before a game, fukk a cheerleader at halftime, hit a game winner, then smoke a blunt at the post game conference
B) kill Lebron James before the NBA finals
C) drive to David Stern's house and knife him up and get away with it (of course their would have to be a realistic wanted sytem)
D) beat Danny Granger to a pulp, get convicted of assault, got to the pen for 5 years, come out and take a fukkload of steroids, workout all day, hire a trainer, beast at NBA tryouts, land a spot on the roster, put up stupid numbers, gets busted for doping, show up to press conference in zoot suit, wield a bazuka, game over. now you must switch control to a new character although your old character will still exist in the world. you can try and break him out of prison with your new character. you can toggle back and forth.
E) be a NBA goody guy, sigh massive deal with Nike, buy 3 house, 4 ferraris, high buzz so you attract money and a crowd everywhere you go, private jets, business, retire young, owns the city, run the crime scene, owns the cops, biggest boss in the world
