Everyone blames the coke for his downfall, which probably had something to do with it but he threw an unreal amount of innings at such a young age. I wish I could have been old enough to watch him in 85.

Different game man. Bob Gibson is my favorite player that I didn't get to see play. About a year ago, I was looking up his numbers and noticed that for about a6 year span his IP went up as his era went down. Pitchers are too protected these days for that to happen

What's insane about Gooden obviously is he was doing that TO START OFF HIS CAREER. His peak years, ages 26-30 could have been :banderas:
