He’s doing this in the name of better data and transparency yet using the average rent in Manhattan for one of his examaples. One, he should be using the median, two, should take a median # that’s appropriate with where/how someone making minimum wage would live. Secondly, responding to local economies is what local min wages are for..,like Oakland paying $13/hr

But no, $15/hr won’t mean people are balling, but that $31k min wage salary would be pretty close to what the median personal income is ($33k) and two people making that would hit what the median HH income is ($62k)...when is being in the 50th percentile from a minimum wage job a bad thing?

I stopped watching when he credited presidents with increasing the minimum wage while completely ignoring who was in Congress that actually passes the laws. Then I looked him up and apparently he runs one of those get-rich-quick pyramid schemes? No thanks. Wasted 2.5 minutes of my life but saved the next 15.

It's not a political video at all.

I think that he started it off that way so that people with preconceived notions about who is raising the minimum wage let their guard down and listen to the facts.

I guess your guard is still up.

Obama had a Democratic legislature for just 2 years. He raised the minimum wage right away when he had the time. For the next 6 years he had a Republican legislature which refused to raise minimum wage under any circumstances. Emphatically repeating "Obama only raised the minimum wage once!" without even mentioning that is really disingenuous.

Like I said, I looked up what that guy does for a living, he's one of those "Rich Man Poor Man" type hacks, I'm not going to waste another 15 minutes of my life listening to a con man.

When did Obama sign a bill into law for a minimum wage increase? The current minimum wage was made into law in '07. Where's the source of that quote?

You're right, the minimum wage was raised in 2009 during the Obama administration due to a law that was already passed. Obama proposed a law to increase the minimum wage and strongly pushed it (Minimum Wage Fairness Act of 2013) but Republicans killed the bill.
