Are these brehs stupid? :dwillhuh::dwillhuh::dwillhuh::dwillhuh:

When we lost power as a teenager, I charged my old Nokia cell phone with some 12gauge speaker wire and a few batteries

There is no way you get through Circuits 1 and 2 without knowing how to do this. I don't believe this:snoop:

Its very easy. As The Wave said, you shouldn't be able to get through your circuit courses without knowing how to do this. Hell you shouldn't be able to get through Physics 2 without knowing how to do this. I only hope this was selectively edited. This isn't my experience with talking to the average engineering person.

Its only a matter of completing a simple loop circuit.

Nah they aren't stupid, they are compartmentally educated without having any actual experience.
This leads them to miscatagorize their abilities by beliving their education in specific areas can be applied to others, and/or by believing education is a replacement for experience.

Its an extension of a phenomenon known as the dunning-kruger effect. Where people that know almost nothing of a particular field or scenerio overestimate their competence in it by incredible margins.

Judge people that didn't go to school to learn circuits for not knowing how circuits work, brehs
I know one said she was a mechnical engineer and I'm not sure how it works in MIT, but at my school ALL engineering students took engineering physics two where simple circuits are covered.

It's not hard to believe. I've seen plenty of cases where teachers and students don't focus on the big picture. Lack of fundamental understanding is an issue not discussed in American education. :manny:

Three levels of Physics is standard so basic circuitry is covered at some point. Practical examples are a different matter though.

Makes perfect sense when you put it that way (although they should still know it)

I'll be honest, I was definitely a victim of the dunning-kruger effect prior to taking assembly and using pcspim in colledge.
I could code a chess game from scratch, but I had no idea how the computer actually... truly translated my high language code to low language information and carried out the execution

If you stopped me on the street back then and said "What is the relation to transistors and programming" I woulda been like... "One is hardware, one is software, they have nothing do with each other. Trust me, I'm an expert coder:heh::smugdraper:"
