One of my biggest takeaways, is that the places with the most "mixed" blacks, are the cities with comparatively lower percentages of black people overall. Only 5 of the 28 highest cities have a TOTAL black population over 20%, so this is a clear indicator that black people procreate "out" more in areas that we are smaller shares of the population, which makes sense.

To be fair, the South by far has the lowest percentage of mixed blacks; by percentage you gotta get to #13 San Antonio before you reach a southern city.

The South also has the most black people period by a huge margin so its logical that the raw volume of black anything, sans percentage, would be higher in the South.

Mf's been miscegenating in the South for over 400 years so any notion that interracial shyt is uncommon in the South overall, is untrue lmao...

San Antonio has the 8th highest population, and 13th highest percentage, of mixed blacks. I have family there that is originally from Sacramento but they full black, I didn't realize it was mixing that heavy in SA but it doesn't surprise me because again, cities with lower percentages of black people tend to have higher mixing rates.

I overlooked Kansas City, which has 22,234 mixed blacks, which is 14.9% of KC's total black population.

I had to ask a few family members who live on Ohio about it and it was the same response of lack of sisters without kids and the ones without kids was looking for these higher unrealistic expectations compared to other women that they couldn’t live up to

But im at a point in my life, of live your life how u want it and get with women who dig u..

I've heard for many years that Ohio allegedly has high rates of black people dating out; I haven't done the state numbers yet, but the Ohio cities don't reflect it as highly as the rumors suggest.

The 3 biggest Ohio cities are all well below the national average (16.4%) of mixed blacks.

I have a less negative take on it...

We know that people have been miscegenating in this country since colonization. So first point for me, is it's ALWAYS been a thing, its as American as anything else.

Europeans came here and started creating kids and families with the Indigenous and the Africans they enslaved.

Second point for me is that this is the most diverse and integrated nation on the planet, a direct result of colonization and the practice of miscegenation. Black people here will never be as "pure-blooded" as black people in Africa, and other places, because our history HERE, is intertwined with the various other racial groups and living amongst them and having families with them.

The Americas in general are like this and the US specifically is hyperdiverse. Nobody alive today can do anything about it, we are ~435 years in this country at this point, which is 435 years of creating children with people who don't look like us.

Third point, ⅔ of all Black Americans live in the South, because that is our ancestral home here. Everywhere else became settled by black people at various rates at later dates. There are still plenty of places you can go in the US where there are few black people----->in those areas, there are less of US to choose from (to varying degree). I been black my whole life, as have you. While the self-hating Negros do exist, they don't represent most black people, so in areas where we are a smaller ratio of the population, I just think its easier to subconsciously date out because you are surrounded by far more nonblack people.

But definitely, black people who specifically want to rid themselves of their blackness and do that thru who they have kids with, those kinda black people do exist and they can exist all over the country---->including the black ass South where black people are generally around more black people.

These are the percentages of people who say they are black but also something else. National average is that those people represent 16.4% of all Black Americans.
