How many people die in anime and samurai films? I suppose those wars are all justified :mjlol:

On this very site we're constantly highlighting the racist past of America and global white supremacy. Now some Japanese guy is saying the same shyt and some of you slither out the woodwork defending and deflecting. It's threads like these which reveal who the white people are on this site.

No its because Japan has a terrible history of crimes against humanity and racism against black people so its like the pot calling the kettle black

He has a great point.

However Japan wasn’t built upon pacifism. They used to kick ass with a CAPITAL A.

All you have to do is read about the Rape Of Nanking.
In Miyazaki's defense, he isn't "Japan", he's Miyazaki and is speaking for himself
here as someone who witnessed his neighbors being slaughtered, who had to leave people behind
as they fled.

He's been anti-war from the jump because he personally witnessed the horrors of it.

So I fukk with his stance. :yeshrug:

He was more talking about Temple Of Doom. Which even in India was controversial for the depictions of voodoo and child slavery.

However, like has already been pointed out. Japan REALLY isn’t one to criticize when it comes to crimes against humanity AND racism. The Japanese have not had flattering things to say or depict historically when it comes to black people
Why are you guys talking like ONE GUY is talking for all of Japan. He is stating his opinion. The actions of a country doesn't negate an INDIVIDUALS critique. MLK was an American. Is he not allowed to critique violence and war because Americans enacted it the most?

Also, in all fairness, a good bulk of modern Japanese are pro-pacificist though their militancy has increased in recent years due to their fear of China. But post-ww2, anti-war attitudes have been common in that country. Notice you guys have to cite WW2 as a counter point :sas1:

You didnt catch the part of the interview where he went on specifically and erroneously labeled anti-America this and that rant? Or how Asians who enjoy violence in American cinema lack self awareness which he displays here doing so?

^ Sure, but hes the guy invoking history in those quotes, so why shouldn't he get called on the hypocrisy of that?
To be fair, he is citing very recent and even ongoing wars of the US.

Japan hasnt done anything of note since WW2.

I dont give a fukk about Japan, but he spit straight facts here. We want to condemn russia for what they are doing now but we killed over 100k civilians in Iraq through our invasions and sanctions before that. The average american literally has no moral issue with that because we are trained through the news media and movies that simply labeling a whole group of people as the enemy, indiscriminate murder is ok, especially if the victims are nonwhite. This is why so many of these people are in the feelings about the Ukraine. Because they are white. You even had journalists say on live tv that this is diffferent because they have blond hair and blue eyes.

Why is this ONE GUY essentially saying fukk the east and west coast?
So we're supposed to look at the subtle nuances of what he's saying....while he's shytting on two entire coasts that did nothing to him?

Let alone saying "I'm anti-jeans". You got beef with pants, word?

Like I said, he had a few good points but he went full retard with it.
