just out of curiosity, anyone know the last hip hop artist to go platinum in a week? Was it Wayne with Carter 3?

yup. i remember the hype clearly leading up to that release was crazy.

no album since c3 has a better chance of going PLAT 1st week more than MMLP2. dont be suprised if it happens.

recovery sold 750k + 1st week. but that was a follow up to his worst selling album "relapse"(great album)

he has more buzz now then he did when recovery dropped.
