Modern NBA players "being more skilled and advanced" is an absolute myth, the rules just changed

It's right in your face and you want to make jokes. I'll say it for you, he can't play like that in the NBA because he will not have any success. He can style on extremely low level hoopers, but when it comes to his peers, he at least understands that simplifying his game is the only way for him to be successful.

It goes for many players. They have the fancy footwork and ball handling mixtapes but they are not playing like that in the NBA. In fact, many of them aren't getting much burn. Too many teams employ 8 man rotations, but I thought the players today were better?
Or maybe he’s a center who sticks to the paint and also he’s not known to drop buckets. As I said, he’s averaging 4 points per game.

It’s like saying players in the 90s had skills at all and couldn’t shoot mid range shots, look at Manute Bol :mjlol:

I’m not joking, I’m just dumbfounded by your arguments

What has absolutely not gotten better is defense. It is easier than ever to score.
It's not

Its harder to score now because teams actually have defensive concepts, know habits and work harder.

Pkayers are hust better at shot making than anytime in nba history.

Not true either

Especially since a lot of bench bigs were in for six fouls.

Yeah it is true. Bigs from 20 years ago had more low post scoring moves. The bench NBA bigs were 1st or 2nd scoring options in HS and/or college.

AI changed the game for sure

If you watch TNC, Ballislife or any of the 1v1 YouTubers, it’ll show you first hand how the carry and gather rules allow players to do what they want

Im not really a fan of it, I understand the gather + 2 step rule but it’s getting a lil ridiculous
The gather step is anti basketball.
Big men dribbling when nobody wants them to :mjlol: Congrats, you have a nice handle for a seven footer. Now go stand in the corner and shoot 3's
They can dribble but they can't defend the rim. Its never been easier to score at the rim than it is today.

The travelling/carrying/palming is huge.
So is being able to punch a nikka in the face and its a play on. Fouling is and always has been against the rules but they let more shyt slide back in the day. People not only dont use this as a knock, they celebrate the shyt. So ask yourself, is this a good faith discussion.

Many modern NBA guards are also overhyped. They may have more individual skills but a lot of them are undersized, give up a ton of points defensively, always get hurt and don’t impact winning. Anfernee Simons, Tyler Herro, Malik Monk, Bradley Beal, etc. These guys are vet minimum or mid level exception players in the 2nd apron era.
