I wouldn't hit a child with my full strength with a pillow let alone a frying pan. I'd never hit a child with my full strength. I don't think mom's was hitting her with her full strength either.

I don't think the frying pan beating was justified, even not understanding the situation I don't feel its justified. Cats want to act like this is the first time she's been told to stop acting stupid or the first time mom has hit her. It could either be extreme behavior like washing dishes with OCD or complete avoidance. So yes, they might not wash dishes voluntarily anymore if they are messed up in the head.

We agree on disciplining but not abusing.

In regards to how many times she's acted up, people don't go from zero to 100 like that. In cases of abuse people don't just snap and wild out on the very first time hitting someone like that. If it was even the girl would be scared and shocked on some "I've never seen my moms react like that."

This notion that people have that abuse reinforces the adverse behavior is false. If you were a child and you went into your pops wallet (as curious kids do) and he kicked you in your chest (a gross overreaction to a child going through a wallet) that doesn't mean your going to grow up to be a pickpocket, thief or rob a bank, commit burglaries or anything.
