The easiest era to communicate in, yet the youth of this generation have some of the worst communication skills ever, Rest Easy to the victim but this was preventable via text, phone call, whatsapp etc.

"Hey dad I know it's really late but I've been out with my boyfriend all night and I'm sneaking into the house now please don't shoot"

When i get home late at night from work and i got the whole house to myself, out loud i say "let me pull this muthafukkin gun out in case a bytch in here tryna rob"

If there is anybody in there, hopefully that would make them say "no, dont do it to me bro" and they come out and surrender
Or they'll hold a corner in your bedroom on the side with the most space and wait for you to come in .

Better get a quick peek or pump fake that arm around the corner after u check the door crack.

She wished she typed a simple "I'm coming home late." When she felt that bullet pierce her skin. A talking down vs lead, hmmm, what a tough decision. It's not like she didn't know her father had a gun, but if she didn't, it's unfortunate. When you live under another person's roof, you follow the rules or find creative ways of breaking them. If you decide to do something foolish, don't do it in a foolish way.

Damn, that's the worst thing that can happen to a man :picard:

I don't see how he can live with this type of guilt. :francis:

RIP to the girl.

Edit; c'mon the sneaking ain't the issue. The problem here is guns and gun culture. People are itching to use those things.

This isn't on him. He most likely assumed everybody was INSIDE THE HOUSE early Wednesday morning where they were supposed to be. The alarms went off, he thought someone is breaking in and he shot. All of that he shoulda woulda coulda stuff is nonsense. When someone is breaking into your house, you're not going to ask questions because you don't know if they are armed as well. Your adrenaline is pumping, you're going to grab your gun and you're going to blast the target. It's unfortunate that the daughter snuck out and then snuck back in, but the blame can't be put on him.

The blame is on him. The alarm is not a reason to start shooting an unverified target, especially when you don't have all the residents of the house under your eyes.

I blame the neo-cowboy culture and people living with an extra sense of fear and having an easy access to guns.
