Got a story related to this shyt too. My units AO was just on the other side of the Euphrates river from those 101st guys. So when they did that shyt we didn’t know anything about it. My platoon one night got back to the fob from patrol and literally it looked like the whole camp was spinning up to go out. So i knew something had went down and we most likely was bout to go right back out because the Battalion never rolls out together. So what happened was the village that the girl those soldiers raped and killed her family kidnapped 2 of their soldiers and killed 2 others. Next 5 days our mission was looking for them dudes. They ended up being found in a field dead with their bodies booby trapped with ieds.
These guys were in my brigade, 2BCT 101st. That whole deployment was a fiasco.

Oh damn i was with 4ID 1-67AR. We was right across the river from them at FOB Iskan. Longest year of my life :francis:.

Breh, tell me about it. I wanted to get straight the fukk out of the Army after that deployment (and this incident in particular), but I still had almost 4 years to do. Mahmudiyah, Lutifiyah and Yusufiah were nothing but death traps.

Yep, they called that area the triangle of death.

Breh literally they are saying I was overpaid when I’m entitled to BAH have a whole wife and kids that live with me and all the paperwork was filed in my records...

Yet somehow cid did an investigation that didn’t include any of that paperwork and finance is saying since they did that I owe...Even the CG signed the paperwork saying I didn’t owe it.

like literally said fukk all of my supporting documents. And I can’t even find the right people to complain to.

One of the guys from that platoon was an instructor at Air Assault school while I was there. There were so many failures at every level for that battalion. I think dude was pretty much stuck at E-7, not because he was directly involved, but because he was in that platoon of 40ish guys. We never asked him about it. That while 10-11 Kandahar deployment was all about redemption for 2/502. We even stopped calling them rapists at division runs.

I was fortunate to Join in 07. I can’t imagine what it must have been like pre-surge. Full patrols and moving to contact with like 4-5 people, vehicle checkpoints and outposts ran with only 3 people. fukk ALL that!

it’s a process known as titling they didn’t have enough on him to discharge/separate him but they will title you aka blacklist you in the system so that you won’t get promoted again and are forced to retire at the expiration of service or retirement point.

If you ever saw a Senior enlisted that you just knew would be promoted and they never did a lot of time it’s because they are titled or have something hidden in their records school failure, GOMOR, article 15 within grade.

I want to say I took over a platoon from 2-501 at Fob wilson/Pasab which was near the arghandab around 2011. So even than it Afghanistan it was still going down. They sent us to support 101st as a detachment and than 3/10th mountain took over the brigade footprint.

Hmmm, the primary criteria for BAH, IIRC, was location. If you moved from a high-rent area to a lower one, or, you received BAH w/dependents but weren't qualified for it, that'd happen. Cats even got caught sub-letting when I was in. There's all types of reporting to catch that, though.

AFAIK, you gotta submit all claims to DFAS.

You should have a form telling you the reason for the overpayment. Can't remember which one, though.

It was kind of different we would just send one vehicle at a time. And relied on cameras and balloons. Unless it was a KLE no one above SSGs went out normally most of the time it was a team and pressure plates and vbieds along with the recoiles rifles were our main threat. At the same time we would let the AFghan Army or police lead their patrols unless we did an infil.

we got to the point where nobody earned a CAB unless they returned direct fire. One of the worst commands I was ever end. And this fukk boy CSM that 10th mountain had named Carabello.
