I'd have to look the articles back up but there was some press awhile back about female athletes and how they can legally lose sponsorships and have contracts canceled, paused or reduced if they get pregnant. Kerri Walsh Jennings said she was straight up told not to start a family. I'd imagine that plays a big role too in why women tend to wait until the end of their careers to start families.
