I put like 50 hours into MHR and at the end it just felt empty.

The combat isn’t challenging or even lots of fun for me. You just pick your moves and spam them. There’s no real need to worry about spacing, or blocking, dodging, etc. Most monsters barely have any hit reaction so you just standing there going ham on your moves, waiting for them to do their move then going back to yours. There’s no challenge in button inputs or timing. Then they run away and you gotta spend 10 minutes tracking them down to do the same shyt again :beli:

Level design is simple there’s no real challenge, strategy or fun in traversing the levels.

There’s no story. And not in a Dark souls “figure it out” kinda way. There’s really no story. Just kill monsters and make weapons out of their parts.

And technically the games have been terrible.

But somehow 10/10 great game…. I swear i will never understand/agree with the way games are reviewed :mindblown:

Not true at all :skip:

I'm intrigued by what I've heard about the difficulty. Monster Hunter World was my first MH game and I felt like it was adequately difficult both solo and playing with others. I didn't always find the monsters themselves extremely difficult across the board, though some were. The difficulty came from understanding everything and learning how to use your weapons and the nuances therein. If that has changed, I will be disappointed in MH Wilds.

Nah I can feel that, a big part of the charm is grouping with friends and family and taking down monsters.

Back in the day since the game was harder, it was just cool to group up to take out strong foes and gear up. Typical carrot and stick stuff, but with more of a sense of "skill"

Now it's more just grouping with friends when time permits and hopefully taking down a monster or two before kids have to go to bed and people gotta get ready for work :skip:

I didn't feel the combat in wilds was to challenging, basically you just need to know when to roll now, unless you playing like lance or something.

Everything else feels like extra sauce instead of really needing to know to get through some fights.

Now MHR, did kinda start off the same way. But the expansion really gave it the juice. :wow:

Name one of these games that MH combat is more challenging than.

What is challenging or not is irrelevant to the bolded section I highlighted. All those things matter more in MH than in any of the games you mentioned. Not to mention MH contains all those elements while some games you mentioned focus on one or two aspects.
