So I applied for a new job and they sent me a link to upload videos. The videos would consist of my answers to normal interview questions.
Is this the new process these companies are doing now?. Seems kinda unprofessional.

More and more companies are trying to do this for a number of different reasons. Often times it's just because some salesman sold them on the idea of having remote video recruitment, others see this as a great way to screen an applicant's presentation skills. Video interviews are usually reserved for positions that are heavy on [remote] presentation skills. However, most employers find that this leads to a significant candidate drop off so it's not suited to most opportunities.

As for if the opportunity is good you can check reviews on Glassdoor. Some companies pay for plants so watch out.

Montage seems to be getting middling reviews, so it should be a typical work environment and being that the position is in hospitality you should try to work on your client facing skills for the interview.

As a minority, have you ever had a conversation with a potential employer on the phone and things seems to be going extremely well? You finally meet potential employer & they have a look of shock that they were speaking to a minority?

Because some black Americans are able to sound so professional over the phone, it can be a task for the recruiter to detect their race. Companies have now decided to utilizes tools that will avoid this huge shock & awkwardness of actually having to interview a minority for a job. Due to new technology, they can now just see what you look like first. They probably won't even bother to listen to your well thought out articulate answers as soon as they see your black skin. They'll just turn off the videos until they come across someone that fits their "company culture."

or hire you to meet a quota. if you choose not to disclose your race on an application, you might as well just say that you're black.

This is why I'm an advocate of checking "White." Cuts down on the fvckery from the front end.

Remember: Document EVERYTHING.
