It should be noted that a major aluminum supplier to a LOT of automakers had a huge fire -- it's causing all of them (Ford in particular) to shuffle their production plans around.
Since Ford makes the F-150 out of aluminum and they don't want to cut the production rate temporarily (they can't afford to either since it's arguably their most profitable vehicle), a way they can gain some vehicle production back is to shift the aluminum going to the Lightning (that's built in a separate facility) to the F-150 plants instead. And since they aren't making money on them, it's a no-brainer.
