These teams should be remembered a lot closer in stature than they are.


Is it the Boston star power that gets them more credit? Did they face better competition? Was their run more impressive?

Was the league just less popular when the Pistons won? Are they slept on for not having big names? Was their run more impressive?

Tempted to say Pistons because my C's underachieved. If KG was healthy in 09 I think we win two straight. If the refs dont suddenly call the game differently in the 4th quarter we win 3 straight. YEA IM MAD.

The pistons were more "impressive" and the celtics were better. Nobody thought the Piston were even gonna reach the Finals where as the Celtics were pretty much the favorites once KG signed

Pistons did more with less,i always felt those Big 3 Celtics underperformed only winning 1...That 2010 finals loss hurts there status as a team/era...

Detroit also reached the conference finals in 2003 OP. I think Detroit won a higher percentage of their games even though they faced weaker competition, fittingly enough their run ended in 2008 when they just so happened to face the Celtics. I’m gonna say Detroit though off the strength that their best player would’ve been the fourth best Celtic at any given point and still reached the finals and won it all just as many times.
