Full House Revival Series in Development

With the original cast on board...

ABC is working on a revival of Full House. TV Guide reports that Warner Bros. is working on a new run for their famous twenty year-old series, which ran as part of ABC's "TGIF" block.

The site notes that most of the show's original producers and cast members are on board, including John Stamos (Jesse), Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy). Bob Saget (Danny) and Dave Coulier (Joey) have also shown some interest. Creator Jeff Franklin would write the series.

Remakes of 1990s TV sitcoms are becoming more popular ideas now that Girl Meets World, the revival of Ben Savage's Boy Meets World, has been a ratings hit for Disney Channel. Boy Meets World was another part of the "TGIF" block during the mid-to-late 1990s.

unless they do it like a parody...like they're all old and cynical and on drugs and stuff on some Arrested Development tip, :camby:

this shyt is stupid, they should also bring back newer versions of saved the bell, hang time, all them goofy teen shows that will have no impact on modern 2010s kids.

The original "Full House" was a hit in the late 80's, early 90's when shyt was 100x worse than it is now, from virtually every angle. Murder, unemployment, you name it, across the board.

Would be great if NBC got behind that or even *sigh* BET. A show like that could theoretically be on in multiple iterations. I think Bill needs to sign off on it tho
It don't even have to have anyone from the original, but pretty much everyone from the original is available if you wanted to tie it back like Girl Meets World did. Dwayne Wayne could be the dean, hell even bring Malcolm Jamal Warner in as Theo and Cree Summer back as professors a couple of times a season and center it on a new class of kids...

Yeah so basically an extended version of what they did the last season of it. They could keep the same continuity they did years ago when they started airing a Different World on Nick at Nite: Ron became Mayor of some town, Freddie became a judge and I think she and Ron got married and of course Whitely and Dwayne were happily ever after somewhere. Debbie Allen has been trying to get it back on TV for a while though and she said this in April:

During an interview with theGrio.com’s Chris Witherspoon in April, Allen opened up about her journey to bring A Different World back to TV:

I have been trying with some very powerful people behind me [to reboot A Different World]. The difficulty is that it’s very convoluted when you’re mixing old writers and new writers. I just wanted to have the name so that I could get started again. Bill Cosby wanted to see this happen. Right now we’re kinda at a stand still. I got really far up that ladder, and then I got stopped. So we’re going to re-investigate it again because it’s such a good idea.
