Instead of folks simply saying that Karl Urban is a really cool actor for certain films but is badly miscast for THIS SPECIFIC ROLE dudes will instead try to justify an over 50-year-old actor with no previous martial arts film suddenly stepping into famous high profile role exhibiting high level martial arts based upon a very high level martial artist in the '80s and 90's, aka Van Damme.
There are literally dozens of guys 40 and under 6 ft tall who are high level martial artists or even from the UFC, K1 or Rizin who could do this in their sleep. This is not some Shakespearean experience on screen
Rico Verhoven could even do this role. But he's a heavyweight and might be too tall/swoll.
You could have even called George St-Pierre if he could hide his accent.
This casting his ass. Quit trying to justify it.
At Mortal Kombat having higher level acting than Bloodsport or Undisputed. The fukk y'all watching?!?
They probably did it on the cheap cause Karl Urban lives in New Zealand and the movie was filming in Australia they ain't want to pay to fly somebody out there.

It looks like a comedy movie, a parody movie.
Heck what's wrong with calling Wonderboy Thompson? As bad as it sounds UFC would cross promote the shyt out of it if Thompson was in it
