China-Zero privacy, genocide, more billionaires than the US, theatrical treaties with India

Venezuela- losing their population and we get more of their people, food shortages, no noticeable industry and no prosperity

Cuba- Same as Venezuela, only bright side is they turned them white cubans into the track team…but black cubans still live an abject poverty. But I will give them credit for their medical prowess

Vietnam- Not even socialist, like china they slowly transitioned to capitalism, probably the most stable of all whats left of modern day communist* societies


America as a society at the end of the day ain’t shyt, we know this. but I can guarantee I have the bare necessities to function from essentials to some luxury. If i want to I can start and engage in commerce on my own free will not cause of beauraceacy and red tape. Most black prosperity even under white supremacy was done via capitalism. More black Americans were lifted and given a sense economic mobility becxause of it. So now because of some old fukk from the WHITEST part of America is talking all this socialism shyt, we’re suppoused to drop any and all aspirations and sing kumbya with cacs and non-blacks who despise us especially when we’re doing better than them? Also do people think we’re NOT gonna be working more than we are currently? Does that not fly in the face of the alleged ‘freedom’ and betterment of society you hear them go on and on about? I would much rather see black folk continue to express interests in financial literacy, the fight for reparations, continued work in the trades and trucking and continuing pursuing higher education than some bullshyt Karl Marx said 200 years ago

American socialists are basically proto-conservatives. They're socially liberal because they don't think government should stop people from existing if they aren't causing tangible harm to anyone and they want government to do its JOB which is to protect citizens. Protecting citizens means protecting them from discrimination, reigning in businesses who don't see human beings as anything other than a business expense, staying out of wars that have nothing to do with us and minding our own business.

They want to take things BACK to what worked. They want streetcars and public transit again which is how American cities used to be organized. People fukking hated cars when they came on the scene. They want those shyt congested highways gone and housing built back there.

They want millionaires taxed like they were before the 1970s. They want the government to put money back into infrastructure like they used to for housing and roads and fight unemployment with public works jobs like they did in the 30s,40s, and 50s.

They want unions back. Conservatives stopped being "conservative" when Reagan showed up. Since that man showed up, Republicans have basically turned into the party of big business. They hate unions(except police unions) they hate government power(except the military and the police when they're in control and can use them to attack their critics) they want to push their religion on others, and they want to privatize as many public services as they can for profit. They're actively changing things for the worse and ignoring legislation that protected people, small businesses and encouraged economic competition.

The modern American "socialist" is what the republican party probably would have become if they didn't decide they were going to need as many racists and fundamentalist "christians" as they could find. They dumbed themselves down enough that big business could step in, finish them off and then use the corpse of the party as a puppet to convince you what's best for your boss's boss is best for all of America and you hate America if you don't kiss police ass and let your bosses do whatever they want to you and let companies destroy your city.

When you’re your own boss you don’t have to worry about the small stuff. You learn to put resources and means in a multitude of ventures so that way you not asses out. I’m not working for me at the end of the day.

Venezuela: Wanted independence and control over their own economy and natural resources, and did not want to be a puppet for the US, and because of that was met with aggressive sanctions (and CIA backed coups) from the US that heavily penalized any country to do trade with them, among many other things.

Cuba: same as Venezuela tbh

The most black suffering happened under capitalism as well. Capitalism runs on black suffering. Chattel slavery happened under a capitalist organization of the economy, and the exploitation of Africa happened due to capitalist exploiting the region. Countless black people died under unjust wars for capitalistic reasons.

There is the reason why almost all black revolutionaries were anti-capitalist and drew the link between white supremacy and capitalism. And why they were despised by conservative capitalist and liberal capitalist.

Social Democracy is the best compromise temporarily. The wealthy still get to be wealthy while the working class get vast social safety nets that give them easier path to upwards mobility. It's not perfect, but it's better than a completely unregulated free market where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, where corporations can do whatever the fukk they want.

Most of the things "democratic socialists" want in America is not even socialism. It's just standard left wing safety nets available in multiple other democratic countries.
Then there's the fact the U.S has multiple socialist programs already baked in and people seem to enjoy and use those things (social security, medicare, education, corporate bail outs)
And it's disingenuous when people try to use Cuba and Venezuela as failed states excluding the fact that sanctions are in place against those countries.
