  • They rarely start on time. And if they’re late, it’s by 3/4 hours.
  • There are waaaaay too many opening acts (most of which are trash local artists)
  • Security are over zealous because-
  • Ignorant ass nikkas that attend want to start trouble and can’t have a good time.
  • The sound levels are usually off.
  • I’ve come to see the artist, not 20 of their “boys/hypemen” who are unsigned, rapping their Lines for him on stage. They’re the nikkas with a towel draped over their shoulder.
  • Rapping over a backing track with no DJ is a spit in the face to the audience.
The exceptions to the above (who I’ve seen perform live well) are: Mos Def, Wu Tang, The Roots, OutKast, Common, Kanye, ATCQ, De La Soul. And when it’s a festival, the artists are usually on point.

Apart from those mentioned... a lot of these rappers put on terrible concerts and have no showman ship. Shouting over your tracks for 20 Minutes isn’t a good show.

The only rap concerts I would go is from rappers that bytches like

I went to a nelly concert(lol) and it was full of woman
I was too young when Nelly and Ja Rule were at their peak... but I can imagine the dime pieces that would’ve been in attendance back then. :banderas:

Now it’s all fake asses and caked up whores filming the whole concert and taking selfies. Hardly anyone there enjoys the damn show. :rudy:

Man... concerts must have been amazing before smart phones.

I’ve seen de la soul in concert and it was boring as shyt. They were before my time though. Nas performed before them and it was dope.

Nas can be hit or miss live. When he doesn’t have 20 hype men on stage, it’s usually a good show.

U couldn't pay me to see ur modern mumble/autotune rapper live
Even R&B artists are trash live. They can’t sing or they don’t put on a show. I’m not a fan of her music but at least Beyoncé puts on a performance and can sing live.

From James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Michael Jackson, Usher to the trash we have today. :hhh:

After boo bomb concerts, summer jams and in the club performances during my teens/early 20s, I agree wholeheartedly.

Three main issues being audio quality, toooo many nikkas who I don't give a fukk about having an open mic and overall stage command/performance.

I always prefer rnb artists in concert over rappers. Still mad I missed Anita Bakers farewell tour last year.
