Maybe, but when was the last time we saw a news report about an atheist killing someone for not being atheist? Atheists do terrible things every day, but they generally don't do those things in the name of atheism, whereas religious people tend to do terrible things in the name of their religion on a regular basis.

What a sad story...crazy ass parents. The couple admitted to police that they had regularly beaten the child for not reading the Bible or finishing his homework. This is sickening beyond belief. Rest in Peace little man, you don't have to live in that bullshyt situation anymore...Killed for not reading this Bible...GTFOH!!! Some people shouldn't be allowed to read the Bible or Koran. But that's not a reason to pretend that all judgment must be suspended- I think you implicitly agree with me here, because you always pop up in threads to criticize some horrible things and make excuses for other horrible things. There are worse places in the world than the US, and I personally have the moral high ground over the idiots who killed their child over the Bible, Imams who justify killing rape victims, etc, just as any reasonable person does.

Im not sure how you feel but it ultimately your points boil down to a case as to why a belief in god should not exist when in reality, thats not the cause of evil in man and not the real reason that men murder. We live in a world where so many people now, are trash, morally. This is going to create a larger number of above it all fanatics who allow their mental illness regarding morality to cause them to do things like the people in this tragic story.

The solution isnt well get rid of religion and no one will die anymore. Its ridiculous.
