the father should be the one dishing out abuse. but even still. best method of punishment is having the ability to take something away that he enjoys.

example -- my dad use to pull out his leather belt or get an extention cord to dole out punishment. but after me layering clothes, fake screaming, threatening to call social services -- he realized the best punishment was taking away my computer and video game consoles.
