I know it's a clique but that shyt got extra spooky last night.
My husband made us pancakes for dinner and my daughter was at our kitchen table eating. My husband was in the actual kitchen (a wall separates the kitchen and the kitchen table) and I was in the bedroom ironing clothes. As I was ironing something told me I needed to go check on my baby. I walked into the dining area and she was sitting there staring into space. I asked her, "Zari, are you okay sweetie?" Usually when I ask this she responds quickly but nothing...
All of a sudden she got up and walked into the living room and started banging her hands on the sofa and looking at me with watery eyes like she wanted to scream but couldn't.
I realized she was choking and didn't know how to motion for help. I've never had ANY CPR training but I grabbed her little ass up and turned her on her back and slapped and shook until she was finally able to cough up the pancakes!
That shyt had me shook for the rest of the night.
What if I would have ignored that initial thought?
What if my baby would have really choked to death.
That shyt was scary. I wasn't even thinking about her nor did I even know she was eating. I just knew something was wrong.
Don't ignore your intuition, Brehs. Follow your first thought..even if you aren't a mom or dad.
