As a paid subscriber I demand a retest with the Vette properly equipped and set up or you have no Honor. I guess we will see if Honor matters to anyone at Motor Trend.

Well damn.

I used to love Motor Trend growing up as an avid ready, but in the Youtube age, I think they are horrible with these challenges and their reviews are unusual. I think them and everyday driver drop some strange gems. Their test drivers can't drive either. When they like a car, despite evidence from every other auto mag, they will make one win. They have been notoriously bullish on the Hellcat for some reason, making it defeat some cars that it simply can't. They made sure to race it against a Camaro ZL1 on a course with no turns and it barely beat it. You wouldn't know from all of their raving. One turn and the Hellcat gets spanked. On this Corvette challenge, why did they choose the manual, which has been proven slower than the auto, which equals the GTR's 0-60, not to mention not having to wrestle gears in the corners while driving. Probst was the first test driver I've seen mention having to wrestle the new Z06. Not to mention, set up the damn wing properly. You do this same comparo on Top Gear, Car and Driver or even the American Top Gear and the Z06 is chosen in a proper configuration and wins going away. Vette fans should be pissed.

The Traps of Unified Korea
The youtube age has killed print car journalism for the most part. Only Evo is still worth reading for me, only because their writing was always just really good to read, anyway. MotorTrend.

As for the cars, yeah, the GTR and the ZO6 aren't price rivals now. Nissan has developed the hell out of the GT-R, but the price has gone up with it. (The bonus being the OG ones are looking affordable now). But the GT-R beating any car on the track will never surprise me. Reading the article, all the reviewers agreed the Vette was more fun, but when it comes to a track monster Godzilla gonna Godzilla.

What IS slightly worrying though is that bit about the Vette running hot and the ECU cutting performance to compensate after a few laps :patrice:

Can't wait to see what Nissan do with the GT-R successor. Gas-Electric performance hybrid it will be like a baby P1, LaFerrari, 918.
