I have a Specialized Rockhopper. It's a good all-around bike. Good for city and trail riding. Pretty decent race bike for a beginner. If the terrain isn't too rough, I can hang up with my buddies on $5k full-suspension bikesI dont know much about whats good and whats not...im looking to spend 500-1000 beginners for use in the city...
I don't know to be honest. As long as you're willing to ride, whatever is whatever. I don't think having the best bike spec wise and tech wise is any different than having a cheap salvation army/goodwill used bike or a Wal-Mart bike, if you're going to end up not riding.
I just bought

And I put over 200mi in less than 7 days on it. Which ain't a lot, considering I parked it in the garage and still rode my other bike when I went riding with my friends.
I do like it though. There's times when I just don't want to put forth the effort on some of the grueling hills that separate my house/ neighborhood from the bike trail. And using the throttle to just boost me through while I pedal or using pedal assist works out quite well.
I intend to give a full review once I hit 1000 miles......

$854 with Warranty.
Basically is a 400 mountain bike. And 400 for the battery. The batteries are super expensive. Even for golf carts, golf carts are cheap but the batteries are expensive.
You can get bolt on motor kits for like 100. But the batteries will run you close to 200.
It's cool. I don't rely on it cause I'm in shape and ride a lot but it's nice to bypass some of the hills then just grind it out on the flats. Even though the hills are where you gain strength.
whats the model of your other bike?
