“Hey, the men’s bathroom at the Bowery Bar was the place to be in 1995,” says Kennedy, whose brash you-can’t-not-notice-me attitude earned her a spot introducing videos on “Alternative Nation.”
But on that night out with Jordan, the basketball legend definitely was not noticing her since fellow MTV personality and supermodel Veronica Webb was also at the table. So Kennedy says she exploited what she believed to be Jordan’s weakness: dice.
“He wasn’t paying any attention to me so I had no choice but to whip out the implements of gambling,” she recalls. “When it came to the wager, I didn’t have, like, $250,000 so he told me if I lost, I had to go back to his hotel room.”
She was scared — but she rolled the dice anyway.
“I was terrified,” she says. “I was not prepared to give up my lady self.”
The dice fell in her favor; her comparatively meager take was two tickets to a New Jersey Nets game. She brought Webb.
