I never seen the level of affluence and no fukks given by a whole community till i seen Chinese people with money.

There may have been some cash, but it was property, put up by families who are very heavy in real estate, it wasn't 35 million in cash. Nonetheless, somewhat fascinating saga, kind of blown out of proportion because of the real estate/"black widow" angle. The trial and case was a long mess, but it does show how money can help defendants, who are very likely guilty, beat the charges.

Whenever a case drags for three years, there are usually a lot of potential issues, that is both intentional by the defense, and sometimes because of the prosecutions case. This case was a mess, the DA's arguments are not that compelling, you have conflicting stories, lack of physical evidence, just a total disaster of a case.
