Aframs/FBA were brought to USA against their will, stripped of their assorted indigenous African ethnic identities (culture/heritage/language/history/etc) to the barebones, and forced to build the country for White Caucasians/Europeans (whose origins are not Native to land of said country either) while having to create a brand new identity on an a land that effectively became the birthplace of an identity. To this day, their descendants know little of their origin aside from the continents name and existence (and even then, many of them seem to be unaware that they are of Western/Central African heritage specifically). They also generationally predate a sizeable amount of modern White Americans, who would be hard pressed to trace their origins in America before the 19th century.
Boers/White South Africans know their precise places of origin and language (Boers are Dutch from the Netherlands, most other White South Africans English/Scottish), brought that culture and language with them, and through both force and deception imposed an oppresive hegemony on the indigenous Black and Khoisan African populations while doing everything they could to enforce separation from them and maintain a strongly European-derived and white-focused identity and culture. This is all while being a very outnumbered minority group surrounded by indigenous peoples whose identity/languages/cultures/etc are mostly still very much alive, active, and thriving. Regardless of their time of residence, they resemble an imperialistic European outpost in Africa that engages in parasitism and exploitation of the land and it's people more than an organic ethnic identity that is adjusting and adapting themselves. They do not "fit" or willingly associate and cooperate with the indigenous black population, and actively seem to be against the very concept of ever doing so, despite what they constantly claim.
You are comparing a group that started from a virtual reboot of various different peoples on a strange new land that organically evolved into a new prople with a culture and history forged nearly exclusively on that land from scratch, to a group that started with an increasingly invasive and encroaching colonization, one that knows their exact origins, and uphold their origin and identity as an elite dominant European minority group that insists on both dominating, exploiting, and segregating from the majority indigenous Black African population.
TL,DR:
FBA is a new identity built from scratch on American soil. White South Africans are unassimilating segregationist Europeans in Africa. Bad angle to try to make a 1-1 comparison to.

While it's not a 1-1, I think it's difficult to put today's lens of sovereignty of land rights to what the world was like 300+ years ago. I don't like it but modern day South Africa, at least institutionally, was partially built by those who are now the White South Africans. In the same way FBAs have rightful claim to this the US having toiled to build the wealth of the nation, so to do White South Africans.
I'm Nigerian and I know exactly where I was born and where my family is from. If someone told me to "go back to Nigeria" I know it would be South South, Nigeria. The 5.2 Million White South Africans can't do that to the same degree. Maybe some of the newer arrivals from the English speaking population but for the Afrikaaners that have been there for 300+ years where exactly would they go?
