I got an old friend who's family I know a little bit, his sister is a hardline alt-right, Steven Crowder and them supporter hardline racist shytbag. And her parents just brush it off and the last interaction I ever had with them I told em "Your daughter is literally parroting Nazi propaganda verbatim, why they fukk don't you say anything" and they just shrugged and were talking about "different viewpoints" and shyt and I told them they enabled and created a bigot, gave my boy the "If you don't tell these people the business" nod and walked out with the quickness.
She's probably gonna end up killing somebody some day.
This film definitely gives a much needed perspective regarding how a lot of white families look and think about race. They definitely take a very "passive" approach towards shutting racial hierarchy rhetoric down. The concept of meritocracy and true equity is a mere talking point trope, facade and pipe dream in western civilization.
It goes back to something I figured out a while back, a lot of white people are more concerned about publicly being labeled as racist, than actually stopping racist thoughts and ideology from permeating throughout society. Essentially they agree with and subtly condone racism, due to the beneficial component of it, but they hate to be called out on it. This line of thinking will inevitable hold this country back from operating at an optimal capacity on the global scale.
With that said, what's also telling about the film is how passive and self aware a lot of these peeps are. For example Dylan Roof, who had a hardcore extremist and racist ideology, still had black friends irl. Like he had black friends close enough to him that couldn't believe he was racist and defended him on national tv. (

). It's like an oxymoron.
These new age white supremacists are young, self aware and come off very innocent to the general public, but they're more aware of what they're doing than the act that they put on. Just like in the video, when these cats were confronted at the metal bar, these cats look soft as Charmin toliet paper, and just as expected when pressed, they're smart enough to deny any association. The game is changing and evolving but the laws and public perception is stagnant. The problem is, the general populace refuses to call this shyt out for what it is. The lone wolf rhetoric is pure bs, and it always everything but racism.
