I don't want to give The Grio any clicks but this is a quote from her piece.

"A 30-year sentence for crimes that will continue to deeply impact our entire community for God knows how long just simply isn’t enough.

Black. Girls. Deserve. More."

Oronike Odeleye is an Arts Administrator in Atlanta. She co-founded the #MuteRKelly movement in 2017 to advocate for the Black community’s divestment from disgraced singer, R. Kelly.

What else does she want?

I'm a big advocate for harsher sentences for criminals in regards to black people, especially black children. An example must be made. fukk a album, lives have been ruined because of this man, neglectful money hungry parasitic parents and an industry. You can't talk about how their needs to be a reckoning about criminals being uplifted in the black community then have a complex when some folks aren't satisfied. Granted it's a slippery slope, but damn it, our people and the right to a life of nurture and love is worth it.
