:wow:It’s like watching an older relative drift off into the sunset. It’s actually my pop’s car but he lets me drive it.

Had my guy replace the entire engine last month, and now the O2 sensor and catalytic converter went out yesterday. That’s about 7k worth of work, after this I’m finished:mjcry:

After I get this fixed, if something else comes up Ima cop a used Camry for about 9k. Brehs It was good while it lasted but all good things must come to an end

So you put a bad motor in it? Or is it just the sensors and the cat that’s bad now? If so just fix that, can’t be that much to fix

To my knowledge the engine is good, the guy who put it in gave me a 3 year warranty. And yea about a week ago the engine light came on, and they told me the cat is bad.

Why spend 7k to go spend another 9k?
That’s what I meant. It’s a few hundred to fix the catalytic converter, but after this I’m not putting any more money into it. At 17 years it’s time to hang it up, just keep it around the house or something

$7K :picard:

Only costed me $1700 to get both fixed for my '02 Frontier seven years ago.

Then again, I got lucky with the sensor .
Breh a whole new engine ran me 6k, and a new catalytic converter and O2 sensor will run me a little under $800

(These are the prices my mechanic quoted me, so i went with him. The dealership mechanic wanted 10k to replace the engine and 2k to replace the cat converter)

7k for a engine swap? A brand new engine I hope.
Yea a brand new engine, with a 3 year warranty. And it isn’t given me any problems besides oil changes since I got it in 2014. So I’m like:lupe:with this second repair in a little over 6 years

7k might as well buy another damned car...:picard:

Real talk Breh I feel you, but this is my last go round with maintenance. If something else comes up, ima just get a car note.

But it’s paid off, and when I started a business that went under once Covid hit, my $$ been kinda funny, so I won’t bounce back until the summer at least

You got ripped off. I threw an engine in a 2010 Lexus (I blew the original over boosting it) for 3 grand including labor
