I gotta get this off my chest, bc as a youngin i dont think people talk about it. You go to school, come out, get a job immersed in cac culture. Now you gotta code switch.

Make a long story short some foul shyt went on, i filed a complaint, but of course there wasn't "substantial proof" :unimpressed:so now i made up my mind im leaving in November. I made up my mind i was gonna do the least amount of work possible while not getting fired. Already started 2 businesses. I go into the 6 certs 6 figures section and politic. I even bring my work from home to the office:skip:im in there doing my business taxes, hopping on calls with the accountant/drivers, and making plays from the iphone.

Im not saying ima move back to Atlanta and join the NOI but i literally cannot stand these mfs. The culture, the way they talk, their ignorance to anyone else's life experience besides their own, and of course the :mjpls:every day. It drains you, i even started seeing a therapist:mjcry:

I dont want to spew rhetoric or running jokes on here, im just speaking on what i've been through:yeshrug:

I feel you homie. But don't vent in TLR. The Coli used to be a place to vent and share the Black experience that we all go through, but now it's just who can call someone a cac or c00n first for most daps.

Be strong fam.

Did you attend an HBCU? Reason I ask is that this move into white dominated spaces seems to have been culture shock to you. At a pwi, you transition into it gradually.

Speaking of transition, as you plan your move out of that job.....try to find out about organizations in your city where other Black people in your field work. A good support network and sounding board.

Last, remember why you're at work. Money and experience that you can leverage into other things in the future....and the reference. MFers aren't your friends, so don't take any of the bullshyt personally

Should have posted this in 6 certs instead of TLR, cats put in work in 6 certs to help people. TLR ain't the place for constructive dialogue.
If you can place the right people on ignore, and catch threads when there's a decent amount of members online, TLR isn't that bad. Ignore list is crucial though because some people have nothing to add to adult conversations.

I did, but not for all 4 years. Even still, I tell ppl even offline that in south ga but especially
In Atlanta, I could go 6 days without seeing a white person. Life was different.

Now I’m the only one in my department. Only 1 of 4 in the whole building. To top it off one of these guys is concerned about his career progression so he’s not worth a damn.

But it is what it is. I’m more so saying that I never had this type of conversation with anyone. I think it’s bc the ppl I’m close to have never been in a corporate setting. I’m glad I’m leaving. I don’t want another man having this much control over me.
