I have the extended warrantyI have the extended warranty
but who knows if they'll honor it
They should honor your warranty; but it's best to read over it again. Having your timing chain break is bad because you have an interference type engine; with interference engines, the valve's stroke and piston's stroke take up the same space in the cylinder and the chain keeps the timing so they don't run into each other. If they run into each other it can cause bent valves, camshaft damage, cylinder head and maybe cylinder and piston damage.
Looks like I might as well start looking into buy a new car.
No, you really can't say. Make sure you read your extended warranty to see if it covers your timing chain. One thing you can do is call your dealership and say that you were looking to buy a used car and talk some bullshyt; then ask them about an extended warranty and what does it covers? After they go through what it covers; ask them if I'm driving my car under the warranty and my timing belt/chain breaks is that covered? You can also go to their website and just pick out a used car so you can have something to talk about.
For example you call up and say I was looking at your used car inventory and I saw this _________ and I wanted to know do you offer an extended warranty for used vehicles and what does it covers. After they talk. Ask them if I was driving and my timing belt breaks; will that also be covered under the warranty?
You always have to stay one step ahead of the dealer
good looking out brehnah not yet breh. Dude quoted me at 5100,6100 and 6800 for a new enginehave they assessed whether the engine was damaged yet?
