Gradually en route to barbershop independence... make my own beard oil and have been lining up my beard with the Andi's

My question is... any tips on a good razor/shaving cream/tutorials to add the nice finishing touch on the line up? I get a decent line with the Andi's... but razor line really separates passable for crispy. :wow:

Also, how often y'all hit up the barber to even out the beard or do you do it yourself as it gets long? I been growing mine for 6 months and it's a shorter version of the rapper Stalley or James Harden... problem is I don't trust barbers not to take too much off. So I was thinking about getting some barber scissors and trying but I'm hoping not to fukk up with it.

Life changing tip for the bearded brehs with some length. Oil alone just gives your beard a shine. If you want a moisturized soft beard get you a leave in conditioner, follow up with a creme like Cantu coconut curling creme, THEN apply your beard oil (I use regular old extra virgin olive oil). It will have broads running their fingers through your luxurious beard trust me.

basically the conditioner gives your beard the moisture, the cream locks the moisture in, and the oil seals everything together. Changed my life when a natural hair sister put me on to this method.

What kind of conditioner? You mean like shampoo and conditioner. You don’t wash it out?

I don't like the crispy look. I rock a high cheekline and I don't have any chin skin because it's covered with beard hair. When I do line my beard I use a white eye line pencil or barber pencil to outline my beard then I use a razor or eyebrow razor to line up. I'll use my clippers to trim flyaway hairs and get the hairs off my lips from the mustache.

Cosign @dj-method-x with the leave in conditioner.
I have a morning and night routine for my beard. I also use Shew Moisture leave in and stir in Jamaican black castor oil.

Night time I use emu oil, and Jamaican BCO after I get out the shower with a damp beard.
Morning time I use Jamaican BCO, leave in and a beard ball that smells good and locks in all the moisture.

**never comb a dry beard**

this is what i meant... not the super, super sharp instagram stencil look... but i still want the fresh out the barbershop look that you can only get with the razor. you just use a straight razor? been looking into these on amazon along with a good shaving cream/moisturizer to avoid razor bumps.

Which Andis you use?

I use a straight razor or eyebrow razor and I don't dig into my beard. I don't do my neck line or jaw line so need to worry about bumps
