My bf is going to jail over me

Me and my bf got into a huge fight tonight over that goon that was tryna kill me and he tried to break my wrist. I called the cops but refused to press charges because he is on probation and i dont want him to go to jail. I started the fight. The cop said that he might still go to jail because he has a a prior dv charge that he served time for which he is still on probation for now. He said even if i dont press charges the da might. Im so sad i should have never called the cops. Is there any way i can fix this without getting in trouble i want to get it reduced to self defense but since i had a cut on my finger it might be hard

If the DA presses charges, just have your bf call you as a witness at trial. No way the DA takes it that far knowing you'll get up there and take full responsibility and tell them he was just acting in self defense.
