Just got out the dentist and got x-rays. I was waiting for the assistant to put on the apron and she said it was banned in Michigan. When I ask why, she stated that the apron actually traps the z-rays in your body while its on. Whereas if it take it off it immediately leaves out.

She even said they stop using it in other countries 10 years ago. So the US is behind

I've no idea what's going on in this sentence, but it's the only thing I can focus on with your post 'cause I'm stupid.

If you don't like it here you can leave. You probably typed this from Beijing. :troll:

But seriously i didn't know this. It's an event that happened so rarely that I never really think about it.

Yeah; at the hospital level, many have been opting to go without shields unless the person is ovulating or a child. Policy will vary by state, of course.

From google ai

While
x-ray aprons for patients have not been "banned," their routine use is no longer recommended for many procedures, especially dental x-rays. Leading medical and dental organizations have updated their guidelines based on decades of research showing that modern imaging technology uses significantly lower radiation doses.

You need a new dentist breh. It's one thing to say it's not necessary, but to say some stupid shyt that it traps radiation in your body is crazy,
I can see why you feel that way.
Is this you, breh? :pachaha:

I had to go to a new dentist recently and got new xrays. I too was surprised by not having the lead apron.
