My friend's girlfriend was dropping me off at my apartment and before I got out the car, she uttered something really strange:

'I wonder how much different my life would be if only I were a little prettier?'

I didn't say much, but I interpreted it in a few ways...

1.) She was slyly dissing my friend and felt as if she was entitled to better
2.) She may have been fishing for a compliment
3.) Money/Lifestyle may matter more to her than than the actual relationship

A little backstory: Her mom used to be a model, as in a REAL model, and both her husbands, ex and current, are millionaires.

What would you have done in my situation? And should I say something to my friend?

girls that are pretty are nothing if they don't have common sense.

You said that you didnt say much. Not saying much can be saying a lot too.
Do you feel shes pretty?

You should say something. There are many things it may and may not mean, so just let your friend be aware of how low his lady is feeling

I think its this one. Females always looking for a self esteem boost from men they know they not giving the puzzy to later on.

I dont say anything anymore when girls do it around me. I just let them keep talking and look at them like :mjpls:

If I ain't getting the puzzy, I don't owe you anything

It was just me there, and I didn't really say much because I give my friend's partners a wide berth just so there's no confusion or reasons for people to get upset.

'He and I were alone and he told me how pretty I was, that made me uncomfortable!'

I'm not trying to mess up a really good friendship because she could misinterpret some stuff.

She's okay looking, but she's that really skinny NY hipster type. Not really my thing.

And as far as saying things to him, I ask him how the relationship is going and he usually seems stressed about it because they have really different goals.

What was the conversation that y'all were having before she made that comment? Or did she just randomly say it after the silent car ride?

We were just talking about general stuff. She had a career in the city that didn't quite pan out the way she wanted. And I think that 'failure' has shaped a lot of her perceptions about things.

She's obviously not happy with her current relationship. She feels like she's settling, especially when you consider the kind of life her mother lives. If a nikka that's caked up or has a few more certs than your boy decides to get at her.... well...

.... hoes gon be hoes so you can't blame Tammy :manny:

Personally, I think he deserves better. He spends a lot of his time trying to make her happy, doing damage control, and worrying about his image so her social circle approves of him. I think those concerns usurp his creative drive and productivity. Even though I currently have a girl that I care for very much, she knows that my work is important...and if she gets in the way of that, she's out. However, that could lead to me being single a lot, but my career is really important to me right now. I can't blame someone for wanting to maintain a meaningful relationship.

Priorities, I guess.
