Come on, now. It could turn 90% black by the end of business today...Buffalo isn't reminding anybody of New Orleans. That's not a diss to Buffalo; it's just not remotely the same.
Why would it it’s Buffalo. It has its own vibe and culture.

Nothing in America is reminding anyone of New Orleans.

Buffalo is black as fukk.

Told her she’d be a fool to not take it. I know a lot of people on this board having been pushing for people to move to less desirable cities so I wanted to see this in action.

You would think this is a no brainer since the jobs she gets in NOLA pay trash but this chick is about to throw away this opportunity.

Also is Buffalo a cheaper place to live than NOLA (outside taxes)?

a southerner subjected to upstate NY winters:russ:.

could work out for certain people but she may be miserable in buff

hands down, you take that offer. it's over double what she is making. being from the buffalo area- niagara falls specifically, there will be plenty of things to do. it just depends on what she is into. the snow is rough but having the increase in money, she should be able to budget and save a lot of money. if she doesn't like it there grind a few years, save and move on.

i don't live up there now cause of the winters but i go home a few times a year. was just there 2 weeks ago for the bills-patriots game. everyone disses the area, but once you get here, you slowly start liking it. good food, people and buffalo gets a lot of entertainment there. concerts, shows, museums and stuff to do. during the spring summer months there is a lot of great parks, places to visit.

i'm of the mindset, anywhere you go its what you make it. if you're a boring person, you're gonna be bored anywhere you go. if you into different stuff beyond just nightlife its plenty of stuff to do.

it will be a culture shock weather wise mainly, but you adapt and elevate yourself- look at the big picture.

but i'm someone who has lived in a few different states, if someone scared to leave their comfort zone, you can't complain when you never achieve anything. everything is uncomfortable until you make it comfortable. you learn about yourself also and build resilience.
More than a mindstate imo, what if I live in Afghanistan and want to enjoy life without living in a totalitarian, dystopian society? I understand your statement to a degree but if the city doesn't offer anything (not saying buffalo doesn't) or it is mostly tuned towards a certain demographic (white folk) then that can factor in too.

I told myself I'd never move back to Upstate NY but if I was making 40 to 50k and offered over doubled my salary, I'd make that work easy. Both my sister graduated from U of Buffalo and I spent all my teenage years in Rochester.

I disagree with NYC unless she a trooper like that but she does drive to Birmingham Alabama often with is like 5 hours from NOLA or less
Yeah that's a 6 hour drive, even every other weekend that would suck. That being said a flight to NYC maybe doable. She can't work from home?
Also is she a c00n or non-black? you said she doesn't mess with black men.

I agree. But this whole driving 1.5 hrs X 2. Let's be real nobody is doing that shyt.

Same thing be pointing our museums and restaurants. After her first 3 months she done seen most of the city and gonna be on work mode
I take a trip once a month to detroit from ohio which is 2 hours. I just stay the weekend, may change that to every other week depending upon my budget.
