The surroundings of Buffalo is terrible. The reason I cold stomach living in Baltimore is because it’s centered proximity is great. Can drive to multiple beaches and do day trips to to multiple big cities and festivals in the east coast in Philly Dc nyc, etc. when my aunt drove to Niagara Falls/Buffalo she said her enthusiasm was getting killed the closer she got

I wouldn’t move to Buffalo, Once you get the Nola lifestyle you can’t just move to a city like Buffalo, she should look into Houston

@Orbital-Fetus a lot of Midwest or Midwestern cultured cities are trying to come back. I believe Pittsburgh is doing well and I think St. Louis, Detroit and Milwaukee trying but it’s hard to attract people probably due to the winters.

I think Minneapolis is the main Midwest city that doesn’t have much of this issue
And ironically Minneapolis is the most frozen city of them all

To me this is a dumb reason to not move somewhere :manny:

U can just fly where ever you want you wanna go to a beach fly to Miami, Mexico, or the Caribbean for the weekend should be light on a $110K salary in a low cost of living city not a long flight at all

This also isn’t true it’s close to Toronto (1.5 hours), it’s close to many Midwestern metros (Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh all about 3-4 hours), it’s close enough to NYC/DC/Philly/Baltimore as it’s about a 6 hour drive to any of those cities or 1 hour flight

hands down, you take that offer. it's over double what she is making. being from the buffalo area- niagara falls specifically, there will be plenty of things to do. it just depends on what she is into. the snow is rough but having the increase in money, she should be able to budget and save a lot of money. if she doesn't like it there grind a few years, save and move on.

i don't live up there now cause of the winters but i go home a few times a year. was just there 2 weeks ago for the bills-patriots game. everyone disses the area, but once you get here, you slowly start liking it. good food, people and buffalo gets a lot of entertainment there. concerts, shows, museums and stuff to do. during the spring summer months there is a lot of great parks, places to visit.

i'm of the mindset, anywhere you go its what you make it. if you're a boring person, you're gonna be bored anywhere you go. if you into different stuff beyond just nightlife its plenty of stuff to do.

it will be a culture shock weather wise mainly, but you adapt and elevate yourself- look at the big picture.

but i'm someone who has lived in a few different states, if someone scared to leave their comfort zone, you can't complain when you never achieve anything. everything is uncomfortable until you make it comfortable. you learn about yourself also and build resilience.

Perfect post these dudes stay talking stupid shyt and ain't never been here.
