So my homie who is 29 has stayed with me since friday night. He has a 5 year old son with is wife who was involved in a freak accident last saturday.
His son is on a rec league basketball team and during there game a kick chucked the ball up and it hit the bottom of the back board and came straight down into my boy's son's face. It knocked him down (he's 5) but he says his son was fine but a couple of parents started to see the blood run from under his eye and they screamed and started panicking. Talkin super loud "get some towels!!! hurry, oh my god!!!!" and for some reason they are crowding around him, he cant really see clearly but he's freaked out. So now he is scared and he starts crying. My homie and his wife take him to urgent care, no stitches but a deep cut, a large scratch, swelling and bruising. Long story short, his face is fukked up.
Now after urgent care and all of that they went home and his wife and son just relaxed on the couch, his head in her lap as she held him and mothered him all day and night. Sunday comes along, same kinda story she made him some food, and he just laid down in her lap and she mothered him. My homie chilled with them, they all watched movies and he was certain to tell his son, everything is gonna be ok, you got hurt, you got scared but you'll be aight.
Monday comes, wifey let son stay home from school cause his face is all bruised she doesnt want him to get teased, plus had to call some people from the school and let them know what happened so they dont think that they beat the hell out of him. My homie was kinda peeved, like send him to school (he's pretty strict about education but its kindergarten). Even so same scenario just coiled up on the couch in mama's lap.
Tuesday after school same scenario layin up in mom's lap. Now my boy is gettin heated like, his face probably has another week and a half to 2 weeks to heal but he cant be layin down every day being petted and kissed. So he talks to his wife Tuesday night and she flips shyt. They argue until Friday night and she's like I want you to leave.
At first he was like "I aint goin nowhere"...then he was like
"aight"...and decided to go out and kick it with the boys and was like lemme chill at your place for a day or 2. I say word. Saturday morning he went to his sons game, his son played, they won. They all go out to eat and he comes back over like "Im not back at home yet man, I dont even want to see her right now"
He acknowledges his sons pain and aint a tough guy tellin his son to man up and stop cryin but he thinks mom might have been over doin it.
I'll give him his props he aint sweatin it, aint talkin about her every 10 minutes or calling home but we talked about it a couple of times and he said "I love her, and I love my son to death. I would do anything for the both of them but this could be the end of my marriage because me and my wife will never see eye to eye on this"
Now I'm like
take it easy man, your going to throw your marriage away because she's over caring? Im not married or have kids so my opinion is moot.
I dont even know what to think or how I would react in this situation...what would you cats with kids do
