Last year, Kirk Cousins threw an interception on 4.4 percent of his passes. This year, Cousins is throwing an interception on 3.5 percent of his passes -- the sixth-highest interception rate in all of football.
Still, Cousins wants to make something clear: All interceptions are not created equal. And the interceptions he's thrown in 2015 aren't actually as bad as the interceptions he threw in 2014. Or in his words, this year's interceptions aren't "quite as awful" as last year's picks.
I'll let Cousins explain.
"I don't feel like the turnovers this year have been quite as awful as they were last year," Cousins told 106.7 The Fan, via CBS DC. "Some of the interceptions I threw last year were just very poor reads, very poor throws, very poor decisions, and while some of the interceptions this year have been that, I don't think it's been quite as many."
So far this season, Cousins has led the Redskins to a 2-4 record. He's completing 66 percent of his passes, but is averaging just 6.2 yards per attempt -- the second-lowest total in the league, which is better than just Ryan Mallett. Cousins has thrown six touchdowns but also has eight interceptions to his name.
"I think every pick is its own entity," Cousins said. "I mean, you can look at the results and say, 'Okay, too many picks.' But every interception has its own reason and its own explanation, so they're all different."
All eight of Cousins' picks occurred in Washington's four losses. Meanwhile, Cousins' only two interception-less games resulted in wins for the team

This train wreck keeps getting funnier. This cac said he throwing better interceptions!!!! Crazy thing is, he will come out of this unscathed. Louisville sex scandal came at the right time. That white privilege is a mf.
