It's the inner strength..
This guy was the regional manager for the movie theatre chain i worked form. He hired me as an assistant back in 2004 and soon i learned he was a complete douche bag...
I didnt have to report to him so i didnt care, i never thought id work at that theatre gig for long so when my theatre manager complained about him...i didnt listen and laughed inside.
A few years go by and the prick got canned for stealing heating oil from a theatre hahhaa...he'd have the company that filled heating oil for a theatre near his house go and fill up his oil as well...well the accounting departmwnt caught on, 4 years later because the bill was ridiculouly high for a small theatre...my manager was mad happy and again i didnt care...
Just to let you know what a dikk he was...my manager was an older man in his 60s...he got sick, cancer, and needed time off...corporate was okay, rightfully so...he had 90 days to return to be able to manage the same theatre...this dikk immediately was trying to transfer his guy to that location...smh...my manager needed more time and this prick tells him im glad your sick and i dont want you back...my manager being an older man with responsibilities returned and was getting treatmwnt, he was beating the cancer...
Then i saw him curse my manager out in the projection booth, complaining and asking my manager " when will you quit" smh
Bottom line he was a complete a$$hole. He gets fired, we get an awesome Regional Manager...new guy promoted me to GM of biggest theatre in the chain...now im seeing money and loving this job. Easiest job of my life, also the job that stopped me from doing better lol. I made my own schedule, my DM showed up maybe once a month. I passed audits, kept loss at minimal and kept customers happy...
my pops got sick a few years later, i leave and when my fathers health gets better i go back to work for them 6 months later...i get house manager in nyc theatre. Loved it but hated the commute into city so my DM asked if i wanted to transfer to long island...i jumped at opportunity. Now remember, this DM was fair and accommodating...never felt like i had a boss, rather a mentor.
A few months go by and bam, company is being sold...we all knew the new owners would keep up but fire corporate because they had their own. The sad day came and new company takes over...
Im in my office and the CEO walks in to introduce me to my new DM and it was that first a$$hole DM made my old managers life a living hell. I was shocked but was like he aint gonna do shyt to me...
He started making his own policies, would contradict upper corporate policies because he wanted to be right...not wanting confrontation, id yes this dikk to death. He was just an annoying dikk who barely graduated high school. I had already decided after dealing with him for a year that i didnt wanna be in this business any longer...
I had mentally checked out...he comes up to me one day and says you are a smart guy and we need you to manage another theatre, i wanted to be left alone....so i said id think about it...he just kept bugging me...i politely declined...
He then calls and starts threatning me saying either i do it or im out the door. So i told him how much more bread you gonna break me with, he said 1500 more a year to manage another theatre where the last manager was taking in 56k plus cost of health benefits..i laughed in his face and said naw im good. Do what you have to...
Like i said, i was mentally checked out...month later i resigned...On my exit interview i let HR know how imcompetent this man was and how he was biased towards some managers...
Fast forward today, i get a call from my original manager that showed me the ways that this scum got fired again and that they had started to investigate him because of my exit interview. Come to find out, this loser was going around threatning managers of losing their job if they dont take on added responsibility without more compensation.
I genuinely was happy for yhe old head who cant start over at another job...he has to pay for his kids college tuition, mortgage, car loans and living expenses in long island.
Thank god i got out early and fukk that scumbag. I didnt get into examples of shyt he did to older managers.
