My youngest nephew, 5 years, cant read.
It kinda scares me, but people told me I shouldn't. I dont wanna see him fall behind when he finally enters Grade 1. His attention span might off to. There are times I take him to the library and help him read. It would take me 1-2 mins for me to get him to say a letter in a word by himself. Its probably too early to think about the kid's future, but looking at my situation, it's good to raise a smart kid.
Yall think I'm thinking too much?:francis:

He's 5 nikka, give him some time.

More importantly, don't just try and force him to learn to read for the sake of reading, so he doesn't embarrass you or his parents because he ain't up to speed with what whoever you comparing him to. Kids are more enthusiastic about reading when they know and understand why it benefits them beyond schooling.
